We were delighted to host Cristina Bosco at our research group as part of a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) under the COST Action UNIDIVE.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss our ongoing research, and explore potential future collaborations. Beyond the scientific discussions, we also enjoyed sharing some of the beautiful views of Istanbul and its unique atmosphere, making the visit both academically productive and personally memorable.
We greatly appreciated this productive scientific interaction and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.

Seminar:
In collaboration with the İstanbul Technical University Artificial Intelligence Center, UniDive COST Action, and our ITUNLP Research Group, the seminar featuring Cristina Bosco as the invited speaker was held on May 20, 2026.
The invited speaker of the event was Associate Professor Dr. Cristina Bosco, a scholar in Computational Linguistics at the Department of Computer Science of University of Turin, Italy. In her talk titled “NLP for Social Media to Address Societal Challenges,” Bosco provided a comprehensive discussion on the role of Natural Language Processing technologies in addressing societal challenges on social media.
During the seminar, current research areas such as sentiment analysis, hate speech detection, multilingual language resources, and computational semantics were examined in detail. Important perspectives on the opportunities offered by social media data for understanding societal dynamics, as well as the ethical use of such data, were shared with the participants.
As the ITUNLP Research Group, we would like to thank all researchers and students who participated in the event, and we look forward to meeting again at similar academic events in the future.
