The "Workshop on Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education" organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) was held on December 18, 2023 at METU Culture and Congress Center with the participation of 55 experts from 28 different universities. The meeting included sessions on "Opportunities and Threats" and "Legal and Ethical Issues" in the use of artificial intelligence.
The program explored in detail the opportunities offered by the effective use of artificial intelligence in education, and shared ideas on how to combine artificial intelligence with higher education opportunities. In her speech at the workshop, our group coordinator Prof. Dr. Gülşen Eryiğit emphasized that in the traditional assessment methods, students could have their homework done by GPT models, so new assessment and evaluation systems should be worked on.
